Artan Shabani, Director National Gallery of Arts, Albania

“One of the most interesting exhibitions the National Gallery of Arts has ever exhibited… Eb depicts the entirety of changes in the country along with the transition of Albanian society for almost 30 years focusing almost exclusively on a generation Eb aptly calls Generation A, cohorts who did not experience the communist dictatorship after its fall in 1990. Eb’s work aims at Albania’s monumental transformations documenting socio-political and radical extremes in the country during this 30-year period when everyone delved into their own project of survival and freedom trying to manoeuvre between wealth and poverty, intellect and illiteracy, the have-nots and the know-nots, acceptance and rejection, beauty and ruin.”
